Sports Turf in Africa

In the past, the condition of football pitches across Africa was often looked down upon, with tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations perceived as inferior to their European counterparts due to poor pitch standards.

Infamous moments - balls bobbling over goalkeepers attempting clearances, touchlines as crooked as a roundabout, and waterlogged surfaces during torrential rain tainted the reputation of these competitions.

Times are changing. ProPitch has been fortunate to witness a rapid improvement in pitch quality in recent years, with further exciting developments on the horizon, including the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be partly hosted by Morocco.

A standout event for ProPitch was the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, which saw the construction of six new stadium pitches and an additional 24 training pitches.
